AmeriCorps Member Spotlight
Tiffany Fields is bringing her innovative ideas to the First Steps AmeriCorps team. Serving as a HIPPY Parent Educator in Florence, SC, Tiffany recently had one of the highest attended parenting group meetings this program year.
Research shows that parenting group meetings provide healthy parenting skills, an increased sense of empowerment, and a feeling of belonging. Tiffany with the support of her service site, Florence County First Steps, really brought in creativity and ambiance to the meeting by making it a parent paint night!
As the assistant director of Precious Ones, Tiffany easily gets families eager to participate in HIPPY due to her passion for early learning. “I love what I do, and I cannot see myself doing anything but serving the young children in my community. It brings joy to my heart as I watch them develop mentally, physically, socially, emotionally, and educationally. I understand that children are our future, and they need individuals that are willing to take the time to help them grow and develop as they enter each new age in life.”
